![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dates Visited: February 17 -25, 2008 Permission To Share: yes Mahalos-Feedback: Aloha, Lilikoi! We had a wonderful vacation on Kauai! It was hours of relaxation punctuated by the exciting excursions you arranged for us. You had asked for pictures. Check this out...Janet caught the biggest fish on our charter with Explore Kauai Sportfishing -- a beautiful yellowfin tuna. The crew was extremely patient with us as newcomers to the sport of deep sea fishing (and, thankfully, so were other 4 anglers who we had never met before that morning). Our sunset dinner sail and whalewatch was spectacular as well. We saw more than 50 whales. The snorkeling was also great fun. The guides were patient with all of us (18 in all, no experienced snorkelers) and we saw more than 16 kinds of beautiful reef fish and about a dozen turtles. The Garden Luau was great. Many people we met there said the food was the best they had during their entire vacation. We agreed the food was great but have to say we ate many wonderful meals on Kauai. The show at the luau was equally spectacular. We bought the DVD of the luau program, and didn't take photos of our own. Speaking of meals, the captain from Explore Kauai Sportfishing, gave us a portion of one of the skipjack tuna caught during out trip. We bought a bag of charcoal, some bread and vegetables, and cooked it at Lydgate Park. That may have been our most memorable meal! Once again, mahalo for all your help. Bob and Janet Lefevre |

Russell worked well with my teenage son while giving the proper amount of attention to me (mid 40's). We had both taken several lessons on previous trips to California but felt like we started over for the better. Russell took the time to not only explain things but make sure we understood the cause/effect relationship of his instruction. He was very patient and good-humored throughout our lessons. We progressed more in three lessons with Russell than in over three weeks of previous private lessons. Couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. Mahalo! |

You were so helpful and nice when setting up the reservation for us. My daughter and I went on the kayaking, hiking, and zipline safari. We had an incredible time!! I wasn't sure if I would end up doing the zipline part as I and another mom on our adventure were wary of heights but ended up doing it and felt so good for conquering that fear. It was not as high up or as scary as we thought it might be. I was able to concentrate on the beauty of the scenery on the second zip!! Our two guides were very nice and knowledgeable of the area. We would definitely recommend this tour. Mahalo and hope to visit Kauai again soon. Dawn & Krysta Deluca Santa Clarita, California |

The helicopter into the jungle waterfall was amazing, and our pilot was knowledgeable and open to sharing some pretty fascinating island history. We did our Waimea bike ride this AM, and it was a ton of fun too. We do the hike/kayak outing on Wednesday, and all of the excursions have added greatly to our time on Kauai. I'll be glad to write a "real" testimonial if you would like one - suffice to say we are very pleased. Thanks again! Dane |

We are back in Kansas and back at work, but we all wanted to thank you for the helicopter ride and luau that you booked for us. It was very informative and we enjoyed seeing all the gorgeous scenery. We did the Princeville luau, and it was fabulous. We really loved hanging out at the lovely beaches. Our guide, Greg was wonderful - very informative of all the area plants and other questions we asked him. The horses were healthy and cooperative. The grounds were beautiful. Lunch was very good - a warm dish of rice and pulled chicken with coleslaw, watermelon and cookies. The waterfall was small, but nice because you could easily swim to it and sit in it and so refreshing! I would highly recommend this trip and your service to others! ![]() ![]() Dates Visited: April 7 - 14, 2007 Permission To Share: yes Mahalos-Feedback: I returned to Kauai April 7-14 and had a wonderful time, in part to your assistance again. Two years before you helped us with all manor of activities. This time we slowed down and enjoyed several things from your magical menu. We returned to the Garden Luau and added a trip to the Fern Grotto. The grotto has suffered greatly from weather over the past several years, but we enjoyed the memories that remained behind in the place so many have been touched by. The grounds are as beautiful as ever and the dinner and show made us feel a part of the Luau Ohana (six generations). We also enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Blue Dolphin, cruising the Napali Coast and meeting up with a turtle and a pod of 12 whale that leisurely circled the boat, just before sunset. They seemed to welcome us and were curious about our having a good time. The spirit of aloha was in abundance and mahalo for your assistance. We also visited Allerton Gardens, connecting to their website from your own as well as a slack key guitar concert on Easter Sunday. I have included some of the pictures we took for you to share. Please do so. Until we will return again and we will. By the way the monk seal is 24 years old and had a small scar where they had to remove a fishhook previously. He seems to have recovered fully. He wasn't the only seal on the beach that morning. A female was also resting about 100 feet away (attached also for publication, if you so chose). She was new to the area, having only been spotted the for first time 1 1/2 weeks previously. Mahalo Nui Loa, Ted |

Dates Visited: March 10 - 17, 2007 Permission To Share: yes Mahalos-Feedback: Aloha Lili, Linda Harrington here back from beautiful Kauai! We had a blast. Jungle adventure was really fun and we all did the zip lines ... the guides were sweet and informative. John got dumped over once in the kayak when going over the little waterfall but the only problem with that was that the car key got wet and when we went to unlock the vehicle the alarm went off and we could not get it to stop. We finally disconnected the battery and had to pay $80 to a cab driver to bring a new key from the airport and have to pay $100.00 for a new key yet. Tell your clients not to get their key wet if it has remote imbedded in the key. We will be fighting the costs with Dollar car rental because they did not tell us that was an issue. The Garden Luau was wonderful. The peacocks even opened up their tail feathers on cue. Swear they are trained. No night life for under 21 and did not seem there was much for over 21 so if you are looking for that, don't go to Kauai. My favorite spot was at the Ke'e? beach at the trail head of the NaPali coast ... crystal clear ocean pool inside a reef looking up at the mountain was pretty much heaven on earth. Anyway, thanks for your help. Mahalo, Linda |

It was my husband and my 5th trip to the Islands and as always it was a perfect trip. I think we have tried just about all the Oahu Luaus, but the Garden Luau was the best by far. We had a terrific time as usual! Our friends truly enjoyed their first time Kauai experience. I have to tell you how wonderful the Na Pali snorkel boat trip was! Our original scheduled trip was canceled due to weather, but because of your suggestion to book early in the trip, we were able to re-book for our last day together. By the end of the week and the day of the trip, everyone was exhausted, we woke to rainy skies, and many asked if we could cancel. We decided to leave it to the Universe ... the trip went forward, the rain dissipated and we had an awesome time! It was one of the great highlights of the trip and all were grateful we hadn't "bailed" out. Thanks for the great recommendation. The crew of the UFO were fabulous - Dean and Don - were very accommodating, knowledgeable and funny. Jasmine coaxed us through the weather concerns, and was always a "doll" to work with. We will definitely make a return trip and recommend your service to everyone! Mahalo nui loa, Monica Barry |

I wanted to say a great big, "Mahalo" for all of your efforts in planning everything and tell you how everything went. The Luau was great, we enjoyed the Downhill Bike Tour immensely but the Sunet Sail was a disaster. The drive was way too long, I should have thought about it and I got sicker than I have ever gotten in my life, despite having taken seasickness medicine twice. I should have known better and not done that but I thought the waters would be calm-oh well, you live and learn. The Na Pali hike with Katharina was incredible and she was the sweetest and most knowledgeable person-we felt welcomed the entire time and loved the hike and falls! The Kipu Safari was a blast, we especially loved the Zipping and Rope Swings, a great time! The ATV Tour was by far our favorite of all the excursions-so much fun and we laughed the entire time! I will definitely recommend you to anyone who I know is going to Kauai-you made our vacation a memorable one! Mahalo and I will contact you again whenever I or we return to Kauai! ~ Aloha, Larry |

I am sorry that you have had so much dry weather lately. It did however work out for us. We did not see any rain or even clouds until we left on January 1st. It sounds like you are getting some needed moisture now. Everything we did on the island just kept getting better. The Hughes 500 flight with the waterfall stop was super. Doors off is the only way to go. It really gives you a true helicopter experience and was great for photographs. No clouds anywhere on the island sure gave us a good view of everything. I understand from our pilot that this is pretty uncommon. Captain Harry has a nice boat with top quality equipment and a very friendly staff. I knew that this was not a great time of year to fish when we booked the trip. We did manage to catch some nice Ahi. According to the crew, the first they had caught in some time. We had a lot of fun and the Ahi tasted great! The boat trip to the fern grotto and the Luau were both a fun time. I especially liked the diversity in the Luau show. Telling of the history of cultures on the Hawaiian Islands was great. It topped off a good day for the 50th anniversary. Thanks again for all your help and for sharing your beautiful island with us. I know it will not be the last time we return. (Tomorrow would be good!) My wife and I have our 25th anniversary coming up in a couple of years. I am sure we will be coming over. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DatesVisited: 4/3/05 - 4/10/05 PermissionToShare: yes Mahalos-Feedback: Feedback on Kauai Sea Tours Lucky Lady Na Pali Half day course. This tour was not booked by TryKauai.com. The Boat, it's Captain and Crew performed a formidable job. They have been attentive to all passengers and demonstrated superior experience and skill in handling sea-sick travelers including the divemaster who also lost it - to our surprise. The objective of seeing whales was exceedingly met despite that it was end of the season. They navigated the boat through schools of playfull dolphins and we also saw large turtles. An experience we will not forget. The food was mediocre but plenty. The selected location for snorkeling and SCUBA was extremely poor, considering the many options available along the traveled path. Most disturbing was the SCUBA DIP (not dive), which ended with 1,800 PSI remaining in the 3,000 PSI tank. I consider this as a falsely advertised option and feel short changed. Bottom line: If you want to see marine mammals with an experienced crew, this is the tour for you. If you want to add scuba or snorkeling, you are better off in front of your own resort. The price we paid with an average of 43% discount was still excessive. The underpaid crew deserved an additional tip. * I am deeply sorry for your experience with the Lucky Lady's dive portion of Les's tour. I have worked with Kauai Sea Tours for many years now but have not booked a dive combo with them as most of my clients just go for the snorkel option and beach landings primarily in the busier summer months. Regarding comments on the diving, I know that with this kind of offering, vendors are limited to many variables, one of which are conditions and the other may be a call by the captain as to what location best serves all on board for. For avid divers, I always recommend a specific dive tour with a vendor that solely offers dive tours for all levels of divers. I am honoring Les's request that I post this feedback and hope it offers help to others who want a dive combo to the Na Pali Coast. Kauai Sea Tours is a wonderful vendor and to date I have not received any complaints as to their operation. I know that it has only been recently that they have offered a optional scuba experience for their guests. |

You directed us expertly ... to the best helicopter ride (doors off), ... to the most desirable downhill canyon bike ride (we were rained out, but still toured the area), ... to the friendliest snuba adventure, ... to the most complete and beautiful luau, ... to the best horseback ride we have ever had ... to the most exciting Zip line, ATV and Tubing available (one source) ... to your best friend, at the Waiohai, whom we met and talked to for additional ideas! We will never forget your help nor this island that we will never forget. My daughter is to return next year a new bride and will most likely contact you later to set up her return activities. Mahalo isn't good enough and I will send some digital photos, when I get them ready. Ted May, Hamilton, Ohio Sent: Monday, March 28, 2005 3:17 AM

The part that you helped us arrange, the 'whale watch' expedition with the Explorer out of Waimea, led by Captain Tara, was truly magical. I know that the animals do what they want, but they are sensitive on levels we can only imagine, and the energy that our little boat put out was reciprocated by numerous whales and hundreds of spinner dolphins, in spite of high and unpredictable winds and seas. Tara was able to enhance our appreciation with her scientific knowledge. We were so enchanted by the Napali coast that we went back up to the north shore, and started the hike on the Kalalu trail, and then looked down on where we had looked up to by driving up to Waimea Canyon and Koke'e Park. Mahalo for all your help! |

Over here on the mainland we have Super K-Marts and Walmarts that have complete grocery sections with meat, dairy, etc. so that was the reason for my question. This is my husband and I's third trip to Kauai in the past three years and we have become very familiar with the North Shore and all its Farmer's Markets, supermarkets, and activites. We will be staying in Poipu for a few days this time and will just need some breakfast and lunch foods for a few days. So I appreciate your answer. We will probably just shop in Koloa where you say there is a Big Save. We have had the pleasure of doing many of the special activities on the island (Helicopter Tour, Napali Coast Tour, Luaus) and this time will probably just repeat our favorite activity of visiting beaches, snorkeling and kayaking up the Hanalei River. Your web site is THE BEST. You give so much information! Thanks for making it available. I'll have my husband look over your website too and if we think of anything special we would like to do we'll contact you. Aloha Carol |

My ultralight lesson with Robert was fantastic. He let me fly about 10 minutes just before landing. It turns out I'm a natural flyer! We also had a great time on the horseback ride in Princeville. Our hosts were Shawna and Lucy. They were very good with their instructions and very friendly. If we were to do it again, we'd probably take a different ride as we are more experienced than we'd thought. Thank you again for all your kind help and we hope to visit again soon – Denny & Jennifer |

The snorkle trip was our first day (before the storm came in) and it was great. The captain of the Kamaheli Kai was Flo and could he drive a boat! This was a great trip! The Zip and Dip was fantastic. This was probably the most fun we had on our vacation because it was so new to us, the scenery was beautiful and they prepared a wonderful lunch. The luau at Princeville was the best luau I've been to so far. The food was great, the entertainment totally enjoyable. I'd do this one again. Thank you for your assistance with arranging and reserving these activities for us. Regards, Denelle Cornett |

Casey LOVED the motorized ultralight flight with Robert, and I so appreciated how he treated us with ALOHA! The Hughes 500 (NO Doors) helicoper trip is still breath-taking to me, and I still cannot express in words how it showed us what a truly beautiful island you are blessed with!! Liko and his crew on the Na Pali Kai III ride provided us with spectacular views, memories, photo ops, and service! The Fern Grotto and Garden Luau was a perfect way to enjoy the afternoon! I am from a small town, but am still "spreading the word" about how you helped us have our "Trip of a Lifetime"!!! Mahalo, Mahalo and Mahalo, SUZY WRIGHT |

The Waimea Plantation Cottages were so nice-they upgraded up to ocean front on account of our honeymoon. The sightseeing was magnificent. We did the Waimea Canyon drive one day, had a picnic at the lookout. We visited the Wailua falls two different times- once after a flash flood warning, the second time the day before we were due to depart. The island itself is beautiful! The boat/snorkel charter about the Makana was off the hook!!!! We had so much fun & the two guys were real "locals". The luaus were a blast too, although, I would have saved the $ we spent at the other luau. The Garden luau blew them outta the water! Wailua Garden Luau is definitely a must-see while visiting! The Fern Grotto tour/cruise was beautiful & well worth the $. We have so many wonderful photos from that spot! Overall, Lilikoi helped us to plan several activities (I chickened outta the helicopter tour... sorry, afraid of heights!) that all were a blast. Although, I did get motion sickness on the boat ride. Guess I'm just a big ol city girl! Thanks so much for all your help Lilikoi! Fa'afetai!!! |

I had an amazing time and I can't thank you enough for all your help in planning our trip. Bubbles is a GREAT dive operator. They took the time to give a thorough dive briefing, including a description of local fish, their behavior, habitat, etc. The dive master was excellent at showing us various critters, and keeping track of the all the divers, (only 3 of us) and..... here's the best part, we saw humpback whales on the dive. Our helicopter trip was cancelled due to weather, but Art made a point of driving me everywhere on the island that you can drive to. I don't feel like I missed a thing. Art really enjoyed playing golf at both Princeville and Poipu. I can't wait to return. I'll be recommending your site and services to anyone that will stand still long enough to listen. We had a FANTASTIC time in Kauai! Thank you so much for making our arrangements for us! We had a great time at everything! The Garden Luau was very good, but I liked both Luaus for different reasons. We took the boat ride to Fern Grotto before the Luau, which we didn't do last year. Even my son, Nick, got up and hula'd on the boat ride back. He was refusing at first, then was all smiles and having so much fun once he got into it! I guess he did like it because he got up on the stage during dinner and hula'd there again! Looks like he's been "Hawaiian-ized", Lilikoi! You know, I didn't know what your name meant until we got to Kauai this time! How beautiful! In fact, last Thursday we stopped for dinner at the Green Garden Restaurant on the way back home from Polihale Beach (which we also just discovered this time, too!) and got to talking to a Kauaiian couple there. He was born and raised there and they were so nice! He bought Mike and I a piece of the Lilikoi pie after I'd mentioned you to them and your name. It was just a fantastic trip with too much to tell you about. Feel free to use me as a reference anytime for you, Lilikoi! How lucky you are to be there in Kauai!!! We could not have had a better vacation! Kauai is the most beautiful place I have ever seen, and all the activities were great. Our trip up the Na Pali coast on the Holo Holo was excellent. The captain and crew were so kind and gracious, the food was delicious, and the views were unbelievable! We saw at least 6 whales! The kayak trip up at Hanalei Bay was very rewarding. We had never been in a kayak before, but found it to be very fun and also enjoyed the snorkeling in the bay. What beautiful fish! The weather was great our whole trip, but that day was the most gorgeous. We had a great time on the Kipu Ranch riding the ATVs. I was a little scared at first, but they were so helpful, and soon I was roaring around like a pro! Another beautiful, fun day. And the ranch is a very interesting place, too. We swung on the rope swing and saw the most beautiful waterfall of our trip. I knocked the bike over in the parking lot on the downhill bike ride, so I was a little scared to start up at Waimea Canyon, but that too turned out to be great fun! We made it down the canyon in about 30 minutes, with several stops to see interesting views and trees, and things growing. Our guide even picked us some wild guavas to go with the cookies! All in all, we had the best vacation ever, and I want to thank you again for all you did to arrange things for us. Bob and Sandy Haegele, Prole, Iowa |

I think it was about my sixth, and none of the previous ones approach this one. Everyone in the party agreed. Finally, the folks who went on the ATV trip loved it too.
