Kalamaku, child of the new land, carries the fiery torch of one family's future. Celebrate through story and song the primal rhythm of Kauai. Explore the depths of the family's great effort as they seek the courage and vision that will carry them far over the horizon. It is during the time of epic voyages between Hawaii and Tahiti, along one of the longest sea roads of Polynesia, that our journey takes place. Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. Our theatrical luau culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing. In a climactic ending, Pele the fire goddess, her sister Hiiaka, Lohiau the prince of Kauai, and the fire breathing Moo-dragon women pay homage to Kauai mythology. Come early and stroll the Plantation's grounds. Shop, take a train ride or a horse-drawn carriage ride, then sit back for a spectacular Hawaiian show. Luau Kalamaku pays homage to the ancient people who endured incredible hardships and bravery by relying on their inner fire of determination which ultimately carried them to the new land. 4:30 - 5:30

Dates Visited: February 17 -25, 2008 Permission To Share: yes Mahalos-Feedback: Aloha, Lilikoi! We had a wonderful vacation on Kauai! It was hours of relaxation punctuated by the exciting excursions you arranged for us. The Garden Luau was great. Many people we met there said the food was the best they had during their entire vacation. We agreed the food was great but have to say we ate many wonderful meals on Kauai. The show at the luau was equally spectacular. We bought the DVD of the luau program, and didn't take photos of our own. Once again, mahalo for all your help. Bob and Janet Lefevre |
