Kauai Academy of Creative Arts offers classes in performing and visual arts for kids age 6 to 13. The Academy currently offers one 4 week session but that is subject to change. Call the current Program Director for detailed information.

The Academy's Mission

Chartered in 1983, The Kaua'i Academy of Creative Arts is a non-profit organization operating a summer school in the arts for the youth of Kaua'i. Their mission is the encouragement and growth of arts appreciation and artistic development for Kaua'i's children, but children visiting Kaua'i may also participate in this culturally enriching program. Why do they do it?
ART BUILDS self esteem and appreciation of diversity.
ART STRENGTHENS human cognitive and emotional development.
ART MOTIVATES learners by engaging and attracting interest.
ART STIMULATES memory and understanding by engaging the whole brain.
ART ENHANCES creative problem solving skills.
ART EXPLORES and reveals our humanity.

How do they do it?

Talented, creative, professional artists and educators are recruited for their annual six-week program based on their enthusiasm and experience working with young people. Students choose their own course of study from a large selection of dance, theater, music and visual arts classes. This allows them to try many art disciplines in a fun, supportive atmosphere. Class size is limited to provide an optimal learning environment. With encouragement and freedom to explore individual creativity, the Academy nurtures a life-long process of expressive discovery and strengthens a foundation from which dreams can be reached.
