HISTORICAL SOCIETY 9TH ANNUAL ROYAL PAINA ~ APRIL 23, 2005
Kauai Legendary Nights Celebrating three famous nightclubs and the women who made them famous. Kauai Marriott Resort, Kalapaki, Kauai 5:30 pm- 9:30 pm. Enjoy an elegant evening of fine dining, music and dancing. Step back to era where three famous nightspots made entertainment history. Visit Coco Palms, Club Jetty and Tahiti Nui and listen and dance to the music of the 40s, 50s and 60s. Three famous women: Grace Guslander, Mama Emma Ouye and Louise Marston were the driving forces behind each establishment and made the aloha spirit part of the evening. Expect an evening of nostalgia, authentic Hawaiian music, dancing and entertainment. The Societys well-known silent auction featuring estate items, jewelry,
travel, golf, resorts and dining certificates and more raise funds to support
the Societys programs and services. Reservations are required. Tickets

MOLOKAI TO OAHU PADDLEBOARD RACE Sunday, July 27, 2008
The 12th annual QuiksilverEdition Molokai to Oahu Paddleboard race. This open-ocean race from Molokai to Oahu, 32-miles across the Molokai Channel, is regarded as the world championship of paddleboarding. More than 100 competitors from around the world paddle solo, or in teams of two, across the channel. This year's race will see a record field in the relatively new discipline of stand up paddle surfing, whereby paddlers stand in an upright position for the duration of the race, employing a tall canoe-like paddle to propel themselves along.
