“It is a cherished community event held each year on Kauai’s Beautiful Hanalei Bay.”
(4TH HANALEI OPEN WATER SWIM)

FORMAT: WILL BE THE SAME AS LAST YEAR with two youth groups --(8 and under, 9-12) to start first at 9 am. Following that will be our 1/2 mile, 1 mile and 2 mile long distance swims along the curve of the bay (buoys in place)

We had 160 swimmers last year, and we hope to expand to 200. If you know of anyone who is considering doing this event, please promote that goal for each and everyone of them, whether as a keiki or an adult. For those of you who did participate, the energy and pats on the back were happening everywhere.

AGES: Many age groups--split into every 10 years starting at 20 and on to the 70+

Late Registration: 7:00 am but closes at 8:00 am

Look forward to seeing you all back with friends and family in 2010! This year they have added an Olympic distance course to bring a new and challenging event to Hawaii’s multi-sport community. The swim course is in protected Kalapaki Bay fronting the beautiful Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club. The bike course is 6 mile two or four lap loop with a number of hills and turns and has a criterium feel to it, testing riders technical skills. The run course is the jewel leg, run almost entirely on the perimeter of the Kauai Lagoons Golf Club along shaded lanes and showcasing awesome vistas. Race proceeds benefit Swim Kauai Aquatics and YMCA Ohana Pool. For details click the links above. Registration is now open.
